Amacythe, Doc Coordinator

Amacythe, Doc Coordinator (at the time of answering the survey)
I was promoted to Project Manager today.

What are your duties as Documentation Coordinator and Communications Officer?
Like many of the Team Members, I wear two hats.
As Doc Coordinator, I am responsible for organizing the rest of the Doc Team, proof reading all documentation posted to the Online Manual
http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php and attempting to review email announcements before they are sent to the members.
As Communications Officer, I am responsible for screening all the emails to the account where you first contacted me. I answer as many as I can and turn those requiring major decisions over to our Project Managers.

How many emails do you receive about SMF per day?
Not counting the hundreds of SPAM emails that we receive, there are generally between 5 and 15 emails that are valid and require a reply. As you've seen, there is an auto-responder and many emails asking for support do not get further replies.

What is the funniest email you have ever received regarding SMF?
The funniest emails are never regarding SMF. We receive emails asking about gears and levers (simple machines)

Will we ever have to pay for SMF in the future?
Never.

How do you handle supporting a free product?
Charter Memberships and donations. Our only real expenses are server expenses since we are an all volunteer team.

If you were advising a future forum owner, what is the one reason you would give
him or her to use SMF over any other?

Cost would be a big factor for many, but I also point out the great security, how easy it is to install and some of the features that are built in.

What upcoming SMF feature are you most excited about?
All of them, but you need to wait to see what they are.

How do you see SMF changing over the next 5 years?
I see SMF becoming a leader in the Forum Software market.

If the sky were the limit, what would be the one thing you would add to SMF?
clouds, a moon and stars

If the entire staff of SMF were stranded on a deserted island, who would be the first to be eaten and why?
LMAO that's is just so wrong.
I'd have to say ... no wait, if I said that you would think it very unprofessional. Are you trying to get me in trouble?
