Missing image picture

Is it possible to display a image, if a hotlinked picture could not be found?
By this i mean, if i or any of my members hotlink an image (which i permit) and the image is deleted or moved, by default it doesnt display anything. But iwant to be able to get it to display a small logo with something like "oops, we cant find the requested image", this is something similar to what Photobucket use.
Is it possible to do this?

For something like that to work, I think you would need the image hosted locally and have them all logged into a database. A script would then check the files vs the database and if the image doesn't exist it would display the default image. I'm not sure if there is a way to do that sort of thing with remotely hosted images.

Messages like that are from the host site, so I'm afraid you couldn't make one for hotlinking offsite.

But for something on your own, then yes, but I don't exactly know how.

I'm the mysterious man with very little and very much knowledge all at once Oo
