I have a weird question, so please bear with me

I am about to finish my first phpBB template created not for my sites, but to bo downloaded. It's started on subsilver, but on a unique layout created by me, css modded, unique buttons and so on.

I will distribute it for free as part of my downloads section. It's free to use, but not to re-distribute elsewhere .. which leads me to my problem. I could submit it to other developing sites, but I am not willing to give the files to be distributed there, only my site will offer the downloads. Are there any chances for me to still promote them and not be forced to give the files to a third party?

What do you advise me?

The most obvious answer to me would be to post at the phpBB.com forums with a link in your signature that says something about "Free phpBB skin"...other than that, I'm not too sure...you are also doing the signature thing here, which is good.

Other than that, look for advertising forums (like here at AF)...and perhaps even paid advertising elsewhere. Even though you're not making any direct money off of it, you can probably make up for it in the traffic that you receive.

i have seen people elsewhere offer a free skin in a thread and the thread contains a desciption and a link back to thier site.......idk how some forums would like that though.....
