A SMF theme for a forum (not yet public)

I finally have had time to work on the forum I though I would start, as I stated in the planning thread. I said I would be using a phpBB but during this time, I have drifted over to SMF and found it quite easy to theme. Again, I have not yet made the forum public, but I have it running on my local system. Here is a screen shot of the theme:

I am still working on few organizational issues, and preparing some seed content. But as far as I can see, the above theme is going to stay for a while without any major modifications.

Comments and critiques are welcome.

I am not a huge fan of it

I know that SMF themes are few and far between, but I think that your forums would look much better with a premade theme, even though it would not be unique. This is not meant to discourage you, but is just my honest opinion....if I were a guest visiting your forums for the first time, I would probably not stay very long, because that theme looks very unprofessional. If you were to liven up the colors and/or tweak the graphics to be more appealing, then you might be going somewhere...but plain text for a logo is just not going to cut it.

I think you're just suppose to take that out and put your own logo/banner in its place. I dont think that is suppose to be permanent.

Grey and red like that dont really go well imo.

I would have only one problem with premade forum theme, Ryan - originality. If I use a premade theme, one that is not made in view of the 'Chaos And Order' realm, it would go against the grain of what I want to build. I know it looks a bit unprofessional now, and yes, I think that would deter most guests. But I think, I will have to make it up with the content - content on the realm I would be building.

Yes, Ryan and n1ck. I do intend to put a better Logo there. The one I have now is just a place holder.

Once I have the RPG forum going, what it would actually do is build on different creative arts (writing and art) around the realm, and add to it.

But yes - thank you guys. I love critiques that really challenges my creations, because I know then what I need to work on, and lets me work in that direction.
