vBulletin resource sites (yeah know about .org)

Looking for the following add ons if available, all part of the Outlander shouldn't have to do any coding drive.

- A portal or CMS of some description.

- Article Management System.

- Wiki

- Blog software

- Gallery.

Thats about it

Have had a hunt around but can't find anything... gee and they say vBulletin has a huge number of resource sites, where are they hiding them Actually if you don't know the sites that support invision you would have the same problem. There should be a directory or something at the company forums l think.

Ah, ok, so now I know where you saw me at Sitepoint

I'll go ahead and repeat what I said there for the sake of my own fingers and so that the members here can read the info

vB's template system is 95% via the ACP. Images are still stored on the server as files, but you must create folders and put them there yourself. Check the /images/ folder in your files for an idea. All those /misc/.../statusicon/.../icons/...etc. folders contain the images. You'll need to define where these images are in your style settings.

Ok, so how to edit the style itself....Load up your ACP and click on Style Manager under the "Styles & Templates" heading. It would take way too long to give you a full walkthrough of it, but you should be able to figure out a lot of it by looking around...if you have any specific questions, ask away.

As far as mods - www.vbulletin.org is the place to go.

Portal - This is what I use http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=97341

I've tried a bunch of them and I think that this one and vBAdvanced were among the best. vBA is the easiest to integrate among all portals for vB, but I liked Drupal more because it is more flexible. There is also a Blog feature you can use with Drupal.

As far as articles, there is a great system called GARS that is still being developed, and should be ready relatively soon - http://www.thevbgeek.com/showthread.php?t=626 - I've seen demo's of this in the past and it is very impressive. It's paid software, but I think it is well worth it.

Just do a search for "gallery" at www.vbulletin.org ...There are at least two galleries that I know of over there, one is called Photoplog and I think the other is simple "vB gallery"

That's all I've got for now, lemme know if you have any other questions.

Just noted drupal, that seems like a decent option.

Have vague memories that there used to be a quiz module for vB a while back, even got agreement from the guy to port to invision. Not noticing that one at .org Maybe hasn't been upgraded as yet.

I don't know if vBulletin has a wiki script, but I would recommend using MediaWiki. I use it and I think it is great, despite the current events on Wikipedia!

I went around looking at Wikimedia Meta Wiki and came up with a solution for you. vBulletin integration with MediaWiki - http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/VBull...ersIntegration

http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Speci...arch=vbulletin

If you have trouble with that, I am a member of a forum that specializes in MediaWiki. You could ask for support there. MediaWiki itself only has a mailing list that I have found to be pretty useless!

Thanks Chris. We are still toying with either IPB or vB for our project, but will definitely have a look at the wiki for the other vB site
