| Title: Apprentice Join Date: Oct 2005 Posts: 168 Location: Malaga, Spain ![]() | Renaming it should be ok, but try and make it something thats not likly to be used, maybe hiifii_memberlist.php so that it doesnt interfer with new files should they ever need to be added. The Closest mod that i can find to what you want to do is the bread crum mod (http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic...ighlight=title) but if you search the mods database at phpbb or ask at phpbb you will probably find the answer. Having not worked with phpbb for quite a while now, im not sure how you would go about it, but you will probably have to edit a few files to grab the title you want to put up there and pass it to the template. | ||||

| Title: Rookie Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 16 Location: Bangladesh ![]() | i dont think this is fair.. AF should also have some rules. if someone spams like that then the admins here should ban them as well. i understand regulantions need to come from the victim site as well but if nothing is regulated here then why will a webmaster come here and ask to be spammed? Out of context posting in your forums can be more harmful that you can possibly imagine. posts like "my fev thing, whats ur bday, welcome to me, do you use laptop?, whats ur fev team" they usualy drive the regular members away cause in most cases they are just out of context. deleting the members list wouldnt be such a wise idea. with every phpBB upgrade the members list will be restored automaticaly. and i know there are a few phpbb upgrades comming soon. deleting the reference of memberlist from the forums will do the trick i think. Also there is an option i believe for restricting the mebers list only to admins/registered users? i know there is one in nuke. SEO tool for phpBB will give you the desired results. there are quite a few out there already and each of them usualy do wonders in respect of PR. just my thoughts.

What we consider to be a quality post might not be considered quality by that given forum owner - so who is to decide what is right and wrong? Furthermore, just because a member spams in another forum does not mean they will spam here at AF, so in that sense, it would not be in our interest to ban every PF member who spams elsewhere - we might not be left with any members here! We haven't exactly decided to handle this situation, but as I've said, how it works for the time being is that if you are the owner of a PostFusion forum and a PostFusion member is spamming in them - ask them to stop. If they do not stop, ban them, therefore your PF balance doesn't suffer. If this does happen, PM an AF administrator so that we can take note of it. If we do receive multiple complaints about the same member, they could very well be banned from PostFusion, and even AdminFusion. It just doesn't seem realistic for us to police other forums, so to speak. I realize we aren't actually policing other forums, but you do need to realize that what you are asking for is for us to monitor hundreds of posts per day in 50+ forums (growing daily)...this is in addition to development and support of PostFusion...and of course, development of AdminFusion as well.

| Title: Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 111 Location: India ![]() | Well thats correct Ryan. I have seen that in some forums people have one word games like Post a word starting with last posts last letter. so all posts all just in 5-10 Letters not even Words. So now i got a solution I have Warned Those guys and also deleted his 20+ posts where he just wroe the same thing If they do that again i will BAN them and will repost here. Thanks for the Replies. | ||||

What you can do there (if your forum supports it) is to stop post counts from increasing in your "off topic" or "general" sections - assuming this is an ok policy for you and your forums. If the post count is not increasing in your forums, your PF balance will not change either. Also, I want to make it clear...if you have problems with members spamming, please let us know via PM - Do not mention usernames in the public forums.
