Question Marque?? Help me Brainstorm here :s

Ok, Ive changed my skin and am planning to set it to default sometime this evening.

Basically, im Planning on using this advertisment thing ive seen, but apparently its a Code?

Something like <Marque> What it does is you can place images in the codeing (small advertisment banner) And the go accross the screen

I know this is slightly random and could mean nothing to you guys what so ever.

If you know could you give me an example of what the code would look like and the best place to put it.

Really need help on this one

Thanks

And

HTML Code:
<MARQUEE>Your Text</MARQUEE>
That is the effect you are looking for.

You can also specify the height and width of the marquee:

HTML Code:
<MARQUEE HEIGHT="20%" WIDTH="50%>Your Text</MARQUEE>
(change the percentages to what you want.)

I also should tell you that this is an inbuilt IE function so only works in Internet Explorer, not Firefox, Safari or any other browsers.

It is also a very annoying and distracting tag and I read in an article that it was a very bad way to highlight things because it hurts the eyes and is very annoying.

But if you want to use it then the code above works.

o Right,

Hmm, do you have any other suggestions then? I'd have it quite small really, and the banners wouldn't be graphical, just still banners, something like 468 x 60 or something along those lines.

Is there anything else you can think of then :/

Thanks for the reply though, any other ideas guys?

Don't use marquee. It is a non-standard and soon to be obsoleted tag. The only other way to accomplish this task is using javascript.

Here is a link to the wikipedia about the marquee tag: Marquee tag - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

That's good that you bring that up as I haven't seen the <marquee> tags in a long time!
