![]() | Custom vBulletin Skins I've looked at a number of companies that offer custom vBulletin skins, but the prices are crazy! Well, in my opinion anyways... is the average price for a custom vBulletin skin (with coding) ~$700? Or am I just looking at high profile companies? Any suggestions? |

| Apprentice | I was also looking at some custom vBulletin skins. I was expecting something around $200-$300 but decided to back off when the cheapest I got was $500.

![]() | Yeah, the average prices that I came across ranged from $500 to $800! Thanks for the recommendation of BlindChild. I sent him a quote request. Let's see how this goes. |

![]() ![]() | Speaking for the three companies I know of that provide high quality custom vBulletin skins at those high rates, including my own, you have to compare the quality. The companies that charge that much deliver the sexiest forum designs out there. That's why it's so expensive. It's the old saying "you get what you pay for". If you're not in the market for "great", and will settle for "good", then you're definitely going to pay less. The bulk of our business is made up of small business owners.

![]() | I've just paid $475 for some work, it can work out cheaper to use a separate designer and coder. I got my work designed by one guy, then coded by another - but this designer actually also work together, but for an all-in-one solution they charge $650. But by approaching them separately i almost saved $200. My point being companies are likely to charge a premium, find talented individuals with a passion for design and some free time on your hands and save yourself some money. |

| Apprentice | ForumMonkeys and toady are both correct. It's a business, not charity. If I want high quality then obviously I'm going to expect to pay a high price, but on the other hand it does pay to shop around. Actually, for a high quality sexy custom forum skin, I would expect to pay around $500 upwards depending on how advanced I want the design to be. The more advanced the design and the higher the quality of the work produced, the more I would be happy to pay. The designer/coder's time and effort should be rewarded accordingly.

![]() | Any decent designer is going to cost upwards from $400 for an uncoded design... I know one who charges $800. Sheldon from vbulletinskinz.com is probably one of the best out there... and he wanted $575 when I asked for a quote... though it's probably a lot higher now as that was 3 years ago ![]() Add $200 for quality coding... $700 isn't all that far off.

![]() | Well, thanks for all the replies. I guess my new budget for a skin plus coding is now $800. |
