I have an image that I put on the back of a theme and it fits perfectly on my 19" monitor with 1280 x 1024 resolution But my other computer with a 17" monitor and 1024 x 768 resolution doesn't look right and the image is clearly too large. The right hand side film strip is completely missing.

Any idea how to make this work right? I have been searching all day and I don't know php very well so I really need some specific help on this one.

Some of these issues can be down to css and floats as well as general positioning.

It's hard to pinpoint what's going on with your page.
Your second image looks like it's slipped altogether.

You can try changing the size of your page elements like the logo first if you weren't sure about how to look into the css.

Sometimes just changing the size of an element by a few pixels can make everything slot back into its proper position.

I agree with xm100.

One css trick I know is to make your borders an image. For instance, create a "wrapper" division, and make the left border N-pixels thick, and the background your image; then do the same for the right border. It takes practise to get it the way you want.
