Looking for feedback on CinVin Diamond, a new vbulletin style. I need to redo the forum redirect icon yet (I don't like the gray arrow) but other than that I'd be curious to hear what others have to say.

Usually I don't solicit opinions like this but I may end up doing something different with this style so before I make a decision I'm open for feedback. Since it's such a 'light' style graphics wise, as opposed to most of the other CinVin styles, it's a bit of a new direction for me.

I think it looks fine...may want to try a blue or maby even an orange instad of the gray.

Thanks. I'm thinking blue for the arrow as I got something in mind for the orange color. I also realized, after posting the above, that the drop-down menus were a bit skewered so I fixed them earlier today.

I really like it, except for that line below the banner/header that extends on either side of it.

Well... you know me, always willing to offer my opinion on styles, especially when feedback comments are solicited, so here goes...

Personally I am an avid fan of (1) light coloured styles and (2) non-graphic intensive styles - and so I very much like this style. It is similar in overall aesthetic to that of Satellite - which I use on tMP. i am looking for a simple, clean and fresh style to use as a replacement for the default vB blue one... and I must say Kev that this one comes to mind when I consider which to use as the replacement on tMP.

Personally I am not too fond of the forum_new and old images, but I guess they fit with the style title. I would also make a little more difference in the alt1 and alt2 classess too... maybe I'd deploy a shading image on these classes such as I have done on tMP Blue on tMP. Where images are used on a vB Style, I am a fan of the CSS imagery rather than images as external files etc such as the header-navbar ones we emply on the latest versions on vBStyles themes.

I llike the simplicity of this design Kev... and I love the use of whitespace... very effective. I see you say that you have something in mind for this style and I for one will be interested to see what becomes of it...

GP, TMM: Thanks for the feedback. The thin line on the background is meant to take away from all of the dead space when the fixed width version is viewed at a high resolution; a simple line though may not be the best thing. The forum icons were the result of me playing in Photoshop; I wanted something really simple and came up with the diamond idea but am open to ideas. I like the idea of the alt1/2 being a gradient instead but I'll have to play around, I'm trying to keep the load time at a minimum.

AL: I thought it was green you didn't like?

Do you remember that discussion we all had about how all forum skins/styles seem to be a mix of blue/white/grey and/or orange? <grin> I don't dislike the actual colours, just bored with every style being done in them ... but as per usual, you do a grand job with your style ideas!

I like it, it's extremly easy on the eyes. It would be better with better/original icons and the header could be made more of a feature
