Unlocking Brushes?
Hello,

Recently when I tried to use brushes I found them locked...I am not sure what the reason might be...But can any one guide me through as what thr problem can be?

um im not really sure on that....maybe it has somthing to do with the layers?and u got them on lock?

Mmmm, I can help you if you on a mac, not sure about how it works on a PC but it may just be similar. If you go to the brushes .abr file/icon. Right click >Get Info. On the info window that comes up, you can uncheck the 'Locked' box that is there.

Hm...

I am on WIndows ...

I will try that...I had only seen them unlocked once and I was stupid enough not to chcek for any changes that made them come up :o

EDIT: Had no option like that...PLEASE HELP!!!!

well... in those pics you sent... the brushes options are disabled because you have a dialog window in the foreground... if some brushes appear locked in that way "sometimes" is because either the tool doesn't support customizing or you have a dialog window in the foreground, if you are triying to use a custom brush or a preset one with changes remember to save the changes as a new brush, and that way if the tool doesn't support customizing you just have to select your saved brush if the tool allows it. As far as I know the PS brushes in windows can't be file-locked.
