Don't really know what to tell you. I've used it and was less than thrilled. I'd suggest using vBNuke instead. Same software but they ripped out the phpbb BBS and allows you to use it with you copy of vB.

As long as cms goes, phpnuke is one of the most used, the problem is that it's development is less that stellar lately, and everyday you can find free options that outperform it. It's also not very secure.

I'd recommend drupal/vbdrupal, joomla or if you're really interested in a *nuke then it would be postnuke.

I used it and still use it.

On my webmaster site I had nuke manage the content and the forums. The problem was that the forums module wasn't quite a great idea, especially since I wanted to start modding them to have more features. So I had to install phpBB standalone and play with it.

After a while I changed the Nuke for 2 separate scripts: etomite - to manage the articles and indexu to manage the links ... have a site with 3 scripts running for it

I still use Nuke for my MA site: martialartlinks.com

It's OK with the links and I have to confess I like it for that. The forums are on IPB though.

Nuke is not a bad CMS, but it's a bit BIG and needs a lot of tweaking ...
