Unhappy Advice Please - Problems encountered whilst doing my first bit of paid work

Hey all.

So I'm posting at vbulletin.com and shortly after I get msned from some guy who I quickly helped with some advice.

After much discussion, we agree that I will install his vbulletin with the prospect of more customisation etc.

Over a period of a couple of weeks, I go on to install LOADs of major hacks, skin, logo, customised buttons to match his hacks and loads of stuff.

He's a little slow paying, but pays ultimately.

But now there are problems.

He's gone so hack-crazy that he's insisted he must have the xbt torrent tracker + intergration hack which he brought, but it turns out you need shell access on the server to install that torrent tracker.

I say I'll resell the tracker hack for him, as moving servers just for this hack you decided you wanted on a whim is excessive. He says he has arranged the guy he brought the hack off to move his site for him. (yeah right)

Meanwhile, he insists that I stop hacking his forum for him and concentrate on customising a flash portal template he brought (this is still ongoing now). I tell him that if he wants to move site, he has to start it now, and I can't really complete my modifications if you're going to be uploading a backup.

(still following?)

I'm not going on msn for a bit because I've been busy making furniture all day and yesturday, I get an email saying surprise surpise, the guy who he said would move his site for him - won't.

He wants me to do it. I have no plans to do that, since I've advised him against moving server at every opportunity. (also my internet has been playing up, making me unsuited to long uploading and downloading)

I've got him to pay me for everything I've done so far which is good, but I did agree to install one more vb hack (the big myspace hack) and a couple of other tweaks. I can't however do that if I don't know what version of the site is currently the 'good' one.

I want to break contact with this guy, hiding off msn is buying me some time, but I do want to complete the work I've been paid for when I can.

Can anyone advise me on my situation?

More background: the guy is a 16 year old which next to no tech skills apart from very minor html + basic vbulletin option changing, and I'm a 22 year old guy currently unemployed ( ) who's just starting on this whole freelance coding business, knowing I'm putting in a lot of hours for very little money, but out to learn from the experience.
