I've got one for both of my sites, and have had great success with signups from there so far

Well, in my situation, anyone who's willing to sign up and post is what we need right now. We've had a lot of trouble getting new members for the past several months. Even though we have a large core of regulars, we still need new people.

And Myspace's don't take long to set up really. It doesn't have to be to fancy for it's purpose

I honestly think myspace can be a catch 22.

As a simple myspace page yes it could work. As a myspace group.. could kill a start up forum as they may as well stay in the group to communicate with one another.

IDK vbulletin blows myspace groups out of the water. Plust myspace is so freaking slow at times...nothing seems to work some days!

Very true. But people are lazy. Most dont want to go to two diff sites to talk to the same people. BUT like I said, a simple myspace page just directing to your main site and then joining the groups of similar interest seems to do fine for me.

Actually, some keywords you type in on google come straight to myspace. I had an accient hosting account with tripod.com, and the automaticcaly put the images you host on google images so if you type in my forums images come up.

Wow, ok, I figure I should post this. After only a few days, I'm somehow getting people that aren't even on the forum adding the myspace to their friends lists. On top of that, I've been invited into a bunch of random groups. I'm joining everything I'm offered. More links = more referances = better rank.

The community seems to be responding very well to. A bunch of them have myspaces, a lot more then I thought, and it's really tightened the comunity. Posting has actually gone up, instead of down.

Havn't had any new registrations from it yet, but definitly getting more guest traffic


I also figure, if there are any other site myspace's, why not befriend eachother? Make a massive network and totally abuse myspace in the process, ha ha
