Does SE langauge effect search result

Sorry for a bad title for this post but i could not think of a better title

well my question is
you search for "GAME" on English google
lets say as a example my site is the very first site you see on list

however if you search for "GAME" on a Spanish language google
my site will be 2nd or 3rd

but sometimes language of the SE does not affect search result and other times it does

well WHY?

Every google different
google.com will different with google.com.au
google.com.au will different with google.co.uk
