Best Sites To Get Links

Top ranking sites for the target keyword are the best sites to get inbound links. Logically these sites will give higher ranking value as they are ranked high for the target keyword. Please correct if this opinion is not correct.

At some SEO point of view, you are right but those sites will not generally give you a link back if your site is at down position & one other thing, we have to create relationship with only those sites which are using only White hat techniques & on top position not bcz of any KW spamming or other black hat techniques

& dofollow links with those sites will help a lot

I never seem to get help from any sites within my niche, even ones i outrank. Better yet is see who is linking to your competition and see if you can get there as well

Logically, wouldn't it be wise to not try to help out or get help from those going after the same niche? I'd look for sites that complement my business focus, rather than one that matches it.

Agreed. Getting good rankings is a ruthless business and you really can't afford to help your competitors or waste time trying to get help from them.

You do have a good point Dulce about seeing who is linking to your competitors and trying to get links from them as well, Site Explorer - Yahoo! Site Explorer is great for that.

if high pr and high traffic sites gives us link back than it's good for us. and it may be helpful for ranking, but we can not get traffic from there, coz they gives text link from resource pages and those pages have appx 30+ outbound links so no one like to see those link farm pages.

You right for SEO but maybe you should get inbound links same theme with our site. Because Google not count if you got inbound link different with your theme site.

This is really touchy and like how people said, very competitive. As long as you aren't out for blood or anything sometimes simply linking to each other can be a good thing. Every site should offer something the other doesn't. If you try to steal someones "niche" or "special thing" and try to replicate it either two things will happen. 1) You'll be chastised for trying to do it and failing. or 2) Do it better than they did forcing them to find something else. Anyways I think that if you link to each other, it's only going to make each of you work harder and thus improve both of your sites over time.
