![]() | 302 Page Hijack - redirects wrong in google index? Hi folks, Wasn't sure where to put this, sorry if it's in the wrong section. My bro has been on the phone to be a little worried about two of his domains. He has two domains which are basically redirects to another domain. The two redirects are not on any hosting, they are simply redirected using the control panel in the registrars website. The landing page is genuine and exists on a server. He has noticed that the two redirects are now going to another site which is pretty much identical to his; it's an affiliate page with a lottery syndicate website. When he types his domain into google, the description, title, etc are correct but the url points to the website with another persons affiliate id. I found this article and I think it pretty much sums up what's happened. Page Hijack Exploit: 302, redirects and Google The article was written in 2005 so I was wondering if there's been any advances or anything we can do to rectify the situation. We thought about moving the domains to a hosting and adding a simple index.html age with unique content then submitting a reconsideration request with google...would that work? Thanks for any help...sorry it's a long post! |
