What are Link farms ?

Link farms are pages that consist solely of links to other pages but fail to offer any kind of useful content themselves. Site owners typically place their links on farms to artificially boost linking popularity and thus rankings on sites like Google. Some link farms are automatically generated, while site owners manage others as a repository of reciprocal links.

These are becoming less and less effective as spiders become smarter when checking pages.. soon this will be a dead form of link building... Which IMHO is the best thing ever...

anything with more than 20 external links isn't going to be beneficial to you, I would stay away from pages with 100's of external pages

Page where new links are coming and as per link farm definition more than 30 outbound link pages are link farm, you can see this on some resource pages, which link exchange web masters creates to get more back links for their sites, but back links from these sites are not more useful. never be interested for back links from link Farm pages, i never take back link from pages, where is all ready 20+ outbound links.
