Join Date: Jul 2006 Posts: 44  | 301 Redirect & Page Rank If I buy a.com & b.com domains that have active links and page rank then 301 redirect them to c.com will this bring more page rank and links to c.com domain? I have found several good dead domains that would be excelent for this. Just Curious Chris

| Unfortunately, no. I found this out the stupid & hard way. I wasted $30. If "a.com" as a PR of 6, and "b.com" has pr of 4 [for example], then pointing them to "c.com" will at best bring you traffic. However, your PR will NOT improve. In fact, deleted domains only retain their PR until the next google update. And as you may know, PR is a formula of how many incomming links you have to your files. If you no longer have those files, then those incomming links are invalid. Also, google deletes all knowledge of previous PR to deleted domains.

| Yes. I paid a heafty sum to learn my lesson. I bought a PR6 site that had been deleted that day. The bid went up to $30 and I won. Psh, it lost its PR when google updated.

| Yes, there is a nifty trick if you want to get a PR 10 for your site. It`s black hat, I made me a free site, I tried it and it worked, using 301 redirect. I can post the trick here, but be advised, I am not to blame if your site will be banned.  | ||||
