Review: SoftLayer

Granted I am spending quite a lot for my dedicated server ($215 a month), I am very satisfied with SoftLayer for numerous reasons.

1. Great support - You can either submit a ticket or post in their user forums. I've received impressive reply times for both.

2. Great uptime - I've experienced 3 downtimes, once was my fault (messed around with DNS). The other two times, the downtimes were literally minutes long. I was gone while the downtime occurred, but the server AUTOMATICALLY reset itself and was running fine. I also received an email of the warning, and the notification that it was restarted. This is VERY important for webmasters with large traffic websites. I can go on vacation now without having to worry about downtimes.

3. Great software - They have a custom control panel, as well as the standard cPanel/Plesk. Their custom control panel is very useful and offers numerous features.

I see a long future with them.

I used them before I moved to co location and never had a problem as well. Good service and reliability on their network.

SoftLayer is a good provider indeed. The team there has always been friendly and more supportive than most dedicated server providers I've dealt with.

ERUPT is on a distinguished road
Softlayer is a good company. They are on the pricier side, but its worth it for the customer service.

Definitely. To be honest, I don't trust those smaller hosts... One time my host just 'disappeared' without warning. Thank goodness I had backups.

$215 a month. How busy is your site? What is the URL so we can see the site if possible. Thanks!
