Just the one domain?

I was interested to find out if you tend to buy just the one domain for your forum. Or do you get all the alternative ways of writing the name? Do you think it is better to do it this way?

generally speaking i will buy the one, if it is spelled weird or has a common alternate spelling i will get a few of them

Better to buy several and place wordpress blogs with feedburner RSS of your forum content on the other spellings.
