Help! Is this worth it?

Hi, i am in urgent need of help on my decision...

I am starting up my freelance career after recently graduating from Uni, i have decided on a name that i really like for my portfolio site and have decided to try and use it as my company name that i will work under for many years to come!

Here is the dilema...
After searching who.is the only name available is currently a .org address, i don't mind a .org address, but when i checked out the .com address it was being held by a company who trades on domain names...

They value the domain at $1,900!

I managed to haggle it down to just $850, even for me this is expensive i am not earning a great deal even though i have currently got freelance work going on and am getting a payment in tommorow, but $850 is a lot for me!

Should i stick with the .org or take the plunge and get the .com?

I get the .org, and try working on the .com later, if required

I would agree. If things don't work out, you haven't spent unnecessary money.
