hosting with godaddy

I bought my first domain name the other day with godaddy, and decided to sign up with them to host as well (since it was only 3.95 for the cheapo package that's what I bought). I bought two months worth to try it out.

The webpage I am building does not have intense graphics or anything, just soem small pics and buttons. I have tried on 3 different computers with 3 different isp's, and each time i loaded my page it was extemely slow. I tried several times because of the temp files and cookies. Still slow load times.

Is it slow because I bought a cheapo package from godaddy?

I havent heard very many good things about their hosting services. Which is why I have never tired them out. I was checking out their packages and you can get 2 months of their lowest package for $10 I believe so I might buy that just to experiment with them though. I like to try different hosts out sometimes.

Same here, don't have any first hand experience but from what I have heard you will be better off looking elsewhere.

I've heard mixed review. Many bad, many good. I've heard people go back and forth about their support. Some say they are quick to respond and help resolve your issue, while others say it's too long. Then again, each person's concept of "long" differs from person to person.

I hope you're on a month to month plan rather than pre-paying for several months (I don't know if GoDaddy has some kind of refund process if you decide to back out early). Wish you the best!

Godaddy is known for domain registration mainly and not for hosting services. I would not recommend them for hosting because I have tried them a few years ago and did not like it at all. They use a custom control panel and I would prefer a host who uses Cpanel.
