Bandwidth

My bandwidth is spiraling out of control each month just getting higher and higher. I'm now over the 40GB mark. Anyone care to post your forum and your bandwidth usage to benchmark?

yup, my forum http://forumchunkies.co.uk uses about 1.8GB a month. Its hard to tell, as i have other stuff using the badwidth, so i cant get a good fix on the actual amount.

Thanks, I have some bandwidth going to other areas, mainly because of spiders or spam bots, but nothing like my forum which probably uses 95%. The fact that I have to purchase bandwidth every month continually amazes me. At my old host, I used about 15 GB per month, and that was only 3 months ago that I moved.

AdminFusion is using 21 - 23gb per month

Given the activity that your forums seem to receive plus an arcade for your members to use, 40gb does not seem too high at all

This is actually the Bandwidth meter under the stats section of cPanel (not Awstats and not the info on the cPanel index)...Awstats actually shows less bandwidth than the bandwidth meter, but I don't trust Awstats as much in that regard.

My bandwidth usage ranges from 30-36 GB in the past few months... Considering we have over 500+ screenshots and 906.40 MB of downloads... that's not too bad for me.

subnet_rx, 40 GB isn't bad for the level of activity your forums seem to have...

Ok, I have just been wondering. My needs have tripled in the past 3 months, but my posts per month has only went up about 50%. Lurkers must be taking a lot of the bandwidth.

Just a tip for you all, try excluding your images directory using robots.txt. This saved me A LOT of bandwidth.
