Keeping newsletters from ending up in spam box?

Is there any way to do this? Seems like anything sent from my website email address is ending up in everyone's spam boxes. I've had to start sending out site news from my yahoo account just to make sure it goes through.

Newsletters, emails, you name it, if it comes from my site it goes straight to spam.

Do you have a SPF record setup on the server?

How do you know they are ending up there? Are your members telling you?

The way I do it is that when I send my welcome e-mail and the welcome private message. I ask them to please ad admin@mysite.com to their safe mailing list as we send out monthly newsletters. Not saying everyone is adding it, but when I do send one out I can tell.

Also maybe add an announcement/reminder ask them to update their e-mails or again add your domain name to their safe mailing list.

Yes, the members are telling me. Only a small few actually get it without it going to spam.

Good idea, but I doubt many would do it. I could barely get anyone to verify their emails...

Was just wondering if anyone knew why a certain address would be considered spam in the first place.

Thank you for the link, but I'm not sure I understand what it does. Is it some kind of software program?

(yes, I'm having a blond moment)

Receiver-side Checking

The domain sender policies alone are not worth much — it is the receiving mail servers that need to enforce them. Most mail servers do not yet support SPF checking natively, however there are extensions for most open-source MTAs and many commercial ones. Again, you can get community support.
As they are also not boasting that hotmail, yahoo or gmail use this in their spam filters then i would say it is currently next to useless

A lot would depend on the layout of the emails you are sending.

If you could post a sample somewhere I could probably help you sort out some of your issues
