Hmm, maybe I should get a hosting box and sell hosting.
Just.. what to name it? I'll get my idea mode going...

I could care less what cPanel looks like as long as it loads quick, I don't have to wait on support calls and I can get what I need done. This wasn't the case.

ASmallOrange was used after Site5 as initial testing grounds for the development of a few scripts and designs. Once the testing phase was completed, we sold them off to clients. We only needed the hosting for a short period of time, hence the short period with ASO. They were top notch, no problems I can recall, we simply needed the hosting short-term.

As for WireNine, they are who we reside with now. We signed up with them during a 3-months free trial offer (pay for the first month, get 3 months free) and we've had very little to complain about at this point. There have been a few slow periods, more so with uploads, though they've worked hard to keep us happy .

As for those hosts not mentioned, honestly, they're not worth mentioning. Giving them publicity would only harm the users of this forum .

HG used to be praised by lot of people. But in last few weeks I have seen lot of problems being reported on WHT forums. I do not have personal experience with them though

Avoid HostGator like the plauge. If it was either HostGator or no host at all, I'd go for no host at all.

I've heard of HostGator been extremely ruthless about de-activating your account, often without notice. Often for silly things like taking up too much CPU power. If that happened on my host, i'd certainly give warning of up to 48hours.

Indeed, there have been many cases where HostGator has suspended accounts without notice. In fact, this happened to a friend of mine recently, and has happened to many of my other friends in the past.

HostGator was one of the hosts we used and didn't mention as well. Even after we canceled the account, it remained active and we we're able to login. I cannot confirm it's still active, though the account remained active for well over a month after we moved away from them.

HG was by far one of the worst providers we have been with.
