Performance difference between VPS and Shared?

ok, just a hypothetical question is there a reasonable performance differnece between forum on VPS and shared? assume forum is virtually empty with one two users posting in a day (else it becomes very relative it depends on no of users etc stuff)

On a VPS resources are shared diffrently and of course they pile as many accounts as they can on a shared so you will suffer from performance no matter how good the server is.

Frankly, the benefits of having a VPS vs shared go FAR beyond performance and bandwidth (though those ar very important). The thing is there are so many more features on a VPS like WHM access and root shell accounts that make running sites so much easier. Without the WHM transfer feature buying sites and transferring them to my server would be a nightmare..
