How easy is it to change hosts?

| Title: Apprentice Join Date: Jul 2006 Posts: 274 ![]() ![]() | How easy is it to change hosts? My host sucks big time. All went well for the first month or so and then it hit the fan. Every month my sites are down, sometimes for a few minutes, sometimes for hours.(like right now) During this time I can't access my cpanel, I can't access the host's website and my emails to support bounce back. This is annoying. I'm thinking of moving to a different host, and while I realize no one can keep every site up 100% of the time, there has to be somewhere better than this. So, how easy is it to switch? I've never had to do this before and frankly it scares me. I've got so many files on my account, I'm in redirect hell with three or four redirects for every page, and of course the forums have to be moved too. I'm worried I'll mess up the delicate structure I've got going on by moving it all. Someone tell me it's super simple. Please. | ||||

I would suggest using hostingzoom's failover hosting, because that plan includes use of 2 servers, one of which is dedicated 99% of the time to serving your mysql DB's. If your main server goes down, the mysql server will take over within only a matter of 1 or 2 minutes, and have your site back online.

It's not the same as my current host. Is there a way I can find out who I registered with? I tried whois but they only list my host. I can't believe I don't remember it, I even checked back through all my emails and I can't find the welcome email from them etiher.
