For domain registration only (without web hosting) is GoDaddy the best way to go?

I need to purchase a new domain name + its alias
GoDaddy offers $6.95 the first year, $8.95 per year thereafter.
NetFirms offers $4.95 the first year, $9.95 per year thereafter.
Both offer about the same free extras & services.

Do you guys know of a better deal, especially for multiple registrations? Has any of you ever registered with NetFirms? (I noticed there're mainly GoDaddy fans around here!)
