Restoring Database on PhpBB

| Restoring Database on PhpBB I have a sql file of the database from my old host and domain that I would like to restore on my new host. When I tried restoring it, it didn't seem to work. Do you have any idea why?

If the database is relatively small (a few mb's), then you can do this via phpMyAdmin. If it's big, the best way to do it is via SSH...If you can't get SSH access, you can use a program called BigDump - but it's not going to be as reliable.

| I went into my PhpBB Administration Panel and tried to restore the database. The database itself is 21.1MB.

Join Date: Sep 2005 Posts: 10,246 Location: Athens, GA | You need to either use SSH or BigDump...SSH is the most reliable method, but you've got to know what you're doing. If you feel pretty comfortable with this stuff, here is how you would do this with SSH. If not, use BigDump...I've never used it myself, so I can't give you pointers, but I think that it should be fairly straight-forward (just Google it)
