With those stats, there is absolutely no reason that a host should cancel your entire account for resource usage...They should definitely disable it if you're being attacked, but not cancel it all together.

Confirm this with them. If they still say they're going to cancel, then there's not much you can do - but I'd just find a new host and never go back.

All I know is that I'm trying not to cry. Should I save up some money and buy the license to put on another server or should I start from scratch again (which seems so daunting)?
That's odd, IPS are generally very good (I can say that as a hosting and product customer for 5 years now). Who sent you the e-mail?

Like others have said, the attack/spidering is hardly your direct fault and it doesn't look as if your forum is generating enough traffic to eat bandwidth on the shared server. Sounds like you have a hosted IPS forum?

You could try contacting Debbie (who is excellent), Ryan or Blake, etc, directly about the issue - if you need e-mail addresses, please PM me.

If you get stuck, let me know and I could arrange you some good priced hosting and tech forum support on my dedicated server.

Debbie was the one who sent me the e-mail. I mean I don't have any complaints about IPS (besides this). They've always been very helpful and very fast. Another reason why I'm really surprised by this.

I think it's pretty official since the last e-mail asked me what my plans were in terms of buying a license and getting the backup.
