Looking for new host with ffmpeg supported hosting

i have been with micfo for a long time and do like there service and prices, but seeing as how i am restricted to some offerings i am going to have to find a solution or move one of my sites from there. I am currently looking for a good host that has ffmpeg supported linux hosting. If any of you have good experience with a host that offers this and is reliable, please tell me so.

At this time i am looking at a plan around the 5000+MB Disk Space and 100+GB Bandwidth. although more Disk Space would be nice as i am getting closer every day to toping mine out.

Thanks.

Is your site very resource intensive? Meaning, are there a lot of users online at once...or does it just chew through a lot of bandwidth? The reason I ask is because I'm trying to determine whether you're looking for shared hosting or if you need VPS or dedicated.

It sounds to me like you just need shared hosting with a lot of resources. In my experience, HostGator has been good for this. They offer a ton of space and transfer for cheap...and surprisingly enough, speed/uptime is very good also. I'm also not sure what ffmpeg is...HostGator may or may not offer that

Either way, if you're interested in HostGator, PM me for a discount

If you need VPS or shared, SoftLayer is an excellent choice - although pricey

ffmpeg
Quote:
FFmpeg is a complete solution to record, convert and stream audio and video. It includes libavcodec, the leading audio/video codec library. FFmpeg is developed under Linux, but it can compiled under most operating systems, including Windows.
I am looking at a Shared Hosting Plan for this current time, i would say there is a fair amount of users online at once, its growing. Most importantly is that it is going to be hosting videos, and already has a gallery that is growing by the day. as you said i am looking at a shared hosting plan at this current time with alot of resources. Future plans would be to move to a VPS or dedicated.

Just talked to HostGator and it seems that they only have ffmpeg supported Linux hosting on there dedicated servers.

I don't think that there are many hosts that by default support ffmpeg, but I think that there are a few that would install it if you ask. I'd check out A Small Orange - they have some friendly support guys.

ASO is going to be very pricey for the resources he's looking for. That's why I suggested either a shared host with abundant resources (ie: HostGator) or a VPS/Dedicated.

Oh, I missed that. If you're using that much resources then I think a VPS would probably be best, because you'd be squeezing in on what most likely would be a highly oversold shared host.

i would really like it if i could get a hold of a shared hosting plan that offers ffmpeg at this time. i cannot really afford VPS currently. I have searched my self but most of the hosts either have a lot of bad reputation or there service was not as good as my current one.
