Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 63  | What's up with forum(s), talk, etc domains?! Why is it many forums/communities now a days have like talk, forums, chat, etc in their domain name? Like TennisForum, TechChat, WebTalk, etc. Is there not much thought put into domains nowadays? Maybe it's just me thinking that?  | ||||

| I don't know but I would say a whole lot do. Well, for me at least anyways. I always search for niche + forum, actually, niche + vBulletin.

| Yeah if you can rank highly for niche + forum you'll get a ton of traffic especially if its a fairly popular niche.

| I think using the terms "forum","chat" or "talk" is fine - it imparts a meaning to the domain without ever visiting the site - you KNOW it's about conversations.
