I thought we were talking about .net's

And as i said in one of my previous posts, i will be getting a really short domain(s) that they can use for there forum. If someone doesn't want to use a free adless forum hosting service because it has a .org primary domain, then "too bad, their loss!".

And they could get a .co.nr domain that shorten there domain by alot!

Just curious but how do you plan on financing a free ad less forum hostser? If you don't mind me asking

You could put up interstitials
They only show up once in a while and they have really high CPM.

Ever hear this:

"I have to go surf the orgs"

I bet you haven't.

Personal preference or not you have to decide on a domain that's going to be the most attractive you can possibly obtain. .net is for "network" as ryan stated but I believe many associate it with interNET as well. dotnet has been gaining solid ground as a secondary to dotcom. It's actually always been in that position but since now so many dotcoms are taken...the dotnet space is even more attractive.

I suggest you place your personal preference for dotorg aside and concentrate on a name with higher potential. Judging by your posts you seem as though you are attempting to make money. It's easier to do that if you consider monetization in every decision you make. That includes the choosing of a name.

Domain Counts & Internet Statistics
Bit in bold- Why? Dont force your views on other people he has got a .org end of story, i had a .org.uk and it worked better than any other .com i've had before. Why should he compromise his personal preference its his life, his domain, his site so he can do what he wants and if he wants to choose his prefrence of .org then he will.
HAVE YOUR OPINION BUT DONT TO FORCE IT ON OTHERS!

I don't see where the forcing views upon another comes into this. It's an internet forum, the guy had an opinion and he shared it.

Agreed, not to mention, labrocca is currently suspended from the forums...so there's no sense in addressing him

Sir Howard - Nobody said that .org's or .org.uk's will never succeed. There are tons of .org's that are more successful than .com's, but that doesn't make them better. .com's tend to be the better option in most circumstances.
