After searching 100s of hosts and reading reviews, I am yet to find what I need. Any recommendations would be appreciated. My Requirements No restriction on installing my own software whatsoever Linux/Unix server 5+ GB Disk Space 20+ GB Monthly Transfer/Bandwidth Ability to have 5+ Domains on one account (sharing the same physical space on the server as they share resources) Ability to have 100+ sub-domains (not needed now but maybe in future) No requirements to move my domains to them ( I don’t want to loose my domain if things didn’t work out) FTP accounts for admin/users Access to Raw error/server logs No restriction on (legal) content Regular (daily) Automatic backups included 24/7 Phone support PHP not in safe mode .htacess SSI Good Statistics Not Needed Web building Software Pre-installed software (Chat, BBS, Gallery, etc) (I use my own scripts) Email features (Mailbox, Forwarding, Auto responders, Auto-responder, Catch-all E-mail Addresses, Spam Filter, Virus Scanner) (already have them with the domain registrar) FrontPage® Server Extensions More info: Looking for host Thank you

Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 41 Location: London, U.K. | Thank you Muhammad. PM sent. Correct me if I am wrong but you are not a host, meaning that you do not own the equipment and network!? Getting space from a reseller adds extra communication layers ie issues will have to be communicated with the reseller, reseller have to communicate them to the host, host to the reseller and reseller to the client. That can complicate the process, especially when it is hard enough to sort things out directly with the host. Thank you

Join Date: Feb 2006 Posts: 37 | I have to say, what could you possibly need 5GB of storage for (A large chunk of a harddrive) but only 20GB of bandwidth? Anyway, you are looking at a large porition of a server, I'd suggest flat our renting one, everything your asking for can only possibly be found in dedicated and VPS enviroments. | ||||
