| Title: Member Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 59 Location: Washington, D.C. ![]() | Which is better: forums.domain.com or www.domain.com/forums/? I wasn't sure where to post this; I hope this board is a good spot. I have a question: Would placing a web site's forums at forums.domain.com be better than placing the forums at www.domain.com/forums/? If so, why? I'm asking because I noticed D-Scripting Forums made such a switch, and I was wondering if that was somehow advantageous. Thanks!

If your forumurl is domain.com/forums then Google sees it as a subpage of domain.com. Useally forums.domain.com is easier to read and remember for visitors (at least for me) but isn't as Search Engine Friendly as domain.com/forums. | ||||

Then, point forums.domain.com to /forums and mask it. (as forums.domain.com) You get the best of both worlds. The members remember the latter, but SE's will use the former.
