Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 282 Location: Scotland  | leased server i am thinking on going for a leased server but i am unsure about it the next upgrade for my host is the same as a leased server with 40gigs of space and 512ram but i am unsure about this and how it work? any help?  | ||||

Join Date: Sep 2005 Posts: 10,246 Location: Athens, GA   | Leased server being a...dedicated server? 512mb RAM is not very much...I'm not exactly up to date and knowledgeable on the hardware side of servers, but I do believe that if you plan to have a very active site or multiple, semi-active sites, 512mb RAM might not be enough.

Join Date: Jan 2006 Posts: 128 | allenmur what is causing you to make this decision? are you going over your plan? or just want a change? alot of people who switch just realize that a dedicated server is just a lot more work, and they are better off on shared if they can get dcent performance

Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 282 Location: Scotland | im on vps at the moment and the space i have is coming up to a close 10gigs used up in 3 months i have seen the package and its 1gig ram and 80gigs as they double it up on the package i want for a extra $5 then next vps package i was looking at is 25gigs of space and works out that the lease of the server is cheaper this is the main reason! i contacted my host they gave me the details they would over me | ||||
