Get Domain Names For Free

I know, I know, there's that famous eye-rolling again. Skeptical? I fully understand. I was once like that when I first heard of them. I was like: "Gee! What a scam!" But they have proved me wrong and I ate my words. Mind you, it wasn't delicious.

I got three domain names from them. The first one took me two weeks of posting since they require you to post and get points and exchange those points to domain names and other services they offer. The second one was a promo by one of the respected members (now a moderator there) that worth less points. Now, I don't need any new domain names anymore but I'm still participating in the community cause I enjoy doing so. So you won't be bored since like AF, they are also productive and helpful.

So AF, am I allowed to post their link?

Sure, post up the link...as long as it's not a referral/affiliate link or a website that you yourself run or moderate (must wait for 10 posts and 2 days to promote your own sites )

Oh, and nothing is free

Sure. http://www.hostbidder.com/ and look for the appropriate tutorials on "how-to's".

Yeah, but the point of views of people differ. Cause I look at it philosophically.

I post at that forum freely. Nothing/noone is forcing me do it. Therefore, I don't consider it as "work" in able to get the domain. I post, I get points, I gain friends, I learn a lot. And in the end, when I have enough points, I get the domain for "free", so yeah.

Yeah, technically, it might not be "free" but it really depends on how you look at things and for me, it IS free.

Hi guys, I am from HostBidder too. I've my first domain name from HostBidder and I love the community there. Some might think that it is crazy to have that number of points in order to have a free domain name, but if you really put some effort on posting, it is just around 2 weeks to have enough points.

Regards,
-Vincent

Two weeks? I'd rather pay the $8 USD.

If you cant afford $8.00 a year to buy a domain..maybe you need to think of a different thing to do.

But gawd forbid everyone can drop $4.00 for a latte a day and these are the same people who bitch about prices of gas or the cost of something else.

But they cant spend $8.00 a year for a domain name.

Just my $8.02 worth

But of course guys, think about those people that just siply CAN'T pay for domains. Cash isn't a problem. But in a country such as mine that don't have PayPal. And a guy like me that don't have a Credit Card, neither are my parents, this is the only way to get a domain. It's not a question of not affording the domain, (I know it's cheap). The question is, do you have WAYS to get it?

If it's a nice forum and posting is fun anyway, then why not take a free domain while you're at it?

The other option would be to do some work for somebody on the net...and instead of them paying you, they buy a domain for you instead. I realize that this wouldn't be as easy as paying for the domain yourself...but when you're in a situation like this (out of the US and cant get a PayPal account), then you've got to get creative.
