| House M.D. Forum Since I love the site, House M.D., I decided that I was going to make a forum about it. Now, there are a few things that I wanted to know from the people here and I'll lay them out. 1) Which domain do you think is better? www.housethread.com or www.housemdthread.com I want to say the first one, but people might just think it's a site all about houses and not the show. 2) Since I don't have the money right now for a Vbulletin license, I am going to have to use phpBB. Because of that, I was wondering if it is hard to go from phpbb to Vbulletin after a site has been open for a while and if it will cause any posts to be deleted. That's about it. I know it's not that much, but I'll probably be asking for more advice as time goes on since this is the first forum that I am opening by myself. I sure hope I know what I am doing.  | ||||

Second of all, I would try to stay away from the word "thread" in the domain name. It's almost as if it's naming one single thread, and not the topic and/or forum as a whole. Chris | ||||

| Agreed. I am curious why you would want to start one now? (Don’t mean to be the downer). I guess the reason I am asking, because wouldn't it be harder to start a forum on a TV series that is already in its 2nd or 3rd year versus one that hasn’t aired yet or that has just started? | ||||

| I thought about that demojames. I thought, "why make a site that is already going into its 3rd season?" I then went in search of a forum about it and I couldn't find anything. Besides, I love the show anyways and since people enjoy it as well, I think that maybe it'd be a good idea. I'd include a section for Season One and Season Two and hopefully it'll work. If not, well, it was worth a shot, you know? HouseMD2020 - Hmmm...I like it because it has the MD in there. I was just curious, and maybe it's just because I am exhausted, but what does the 2020 signify? | ||||

| Truth is, the diseases and the symptoms on the show are, in fact, true. They actually have doctors on board that give consults and stuff. What about my Vbulletin question? Is that possible or no? | ||||

Join Date: Jul 2006 Posts: 44 | I did the same thing with my reef forum, I waited till I had about 100 users and new I was going to have an active community then switched over. I would still take the time to customize your phpbb skin and software to make it original. Almost all hacks for each system have some type of duplicate on available on the other system.
