Give me all your [niche] ideas

I need ideas for my forum... I'm doing a complete re-write of all the categories and everything, to hover around one niche.... what should it be?

Real estate? web hosting? cpanel?

Give me ideas, I'm open to anything that has potential.

You're just looking for a topic?

My best advice is to find something unique, something that lots of people have some knowledge/need/whatever for, and that doesn't appear on big-boards.com.

Yeah, I find some of the things I like tend to be over-done in terms of forums, and as a result, find that there is always at least one bigger than mine.

Hehe, interesting thread.

I would recommend you do some keyword research on various topics that interest you. Also, take a close look at the competition in each market and determine if you can do something better or come at a different angle.

Do what you want to do, not what we want you to do...One of the most important things for the success of a forum is the owner having a genuine interest in it. I'd sit down and create a list of 5-10 topics that you are interested in...Then go see what the competition looks like for each of these. Narrow the list down to a few with the least overall competition.

Then you can ask around and see what other people think, but ultimately, you should go with a topic that you are interested in and one that you can offer something unique that nobody else has.

Most have already been done.

I agree with Lee and Ryan on this one. You need to come up with something that interest you and make it your unique topic. If I said make one about Real Estate, how much do you know about Real Estate? or let's say Dog Collars? You need to find something that interest you and that you know a little something about the topic. Cause what good is a forum if you don't know anything about the topic?

Just my .03 worth
