Too bland - another forum for misc talk?

Although i have a niche for my forums, i was thinking today that i dont really cater for people who may not be interested in Computer-Networking. Do you think that i should maybe create another forum or do you think i have hit the nail on the head with the amount of forums for the minor size of my boards?

You mean on Unlocked Networks? Lemme take a look.

Uh, yeah, you might want to make some other forums. But really what's the point of un-niche-ing? You look like you're doing all right; just advertise more. If your members want different boards, they'll ask for them. =)

In my opinion, networking just doesn't seem like a big attention grabber to me, so you might want to come up with a new idea completely. However, if you really like the niche, stick to it, as it's fairly unique and with proper promotion, it would probably work.

Thanks for the reply guys,

I see what you mean about un-niching a forum Crystal, i guess sometimes when you put effort in; you begin to try and stoop to other levels in an attempt to attract members...but it my case it would probably be pointless :s hehe

I am starting to get about abit, and gathering lots of networking material, i will see how things go over the next few months .

At NFHiB, we have a large Off-Topic talk section which has grown into different sub-forums over the last 4 years - it's a very successful section now.

As members become more long-term on your forum, they will appreciate a place to post off topic bits and pieces on a forum they enjoy and trust using - always worth adding. Keep it small first and see how it develops, good luck.
