ad impressions for tutorials

I'm looking at setting up a webmaster site and forum. A significant section of the site will be a tutorials section using the script I created for this site. To get it kicked off I am thinking of offering above the fold 468x60 banner ad impressions to webmasters who submit original tutorials. Which is where I need feedback. What number of impressions would be attractive to bring in tutorial writers? How much would you do it for for example for a 250 word or 500 word tutorial etc? The banners would be shown across my online games websites and forums which include muhq.com, silkroadtavern.com and kalhq.com/forums.

Any feedback would be most apreciated.

It would depend on the traffic that is generated. Most authors that have websites would love the extra traffic and backlink, however, if there is little to no traffic it really wouldn't be of great benefit.

Their will be very little traffic on the webmaster site to start with. The main benefit at the start will be the ad impressions shown across my other sites. I have around 2.5 mil pages impressions per month which I can use and I can offer xx,000 impressions per hundred words or something similar.

Well, the sites you are planning to display the banners are very untargeted for webmasters...Webmasters want to target just that, webmasters, not gamers.

My recommendation would be to offer the ads just on your tutorial website (not your gaming websites). This will be much more appealing to any tutorial writers. How much traffic the site is receiving is really unimportant since you are basing everything off of impressions. Whether you receive 1,000 impressions on Google or 1,000 AF, an impression is an impression.

As far as number of impressions to offer, I'm not really sure...but I'd say 1,000 - 2,000

The point about the ads bening untargetted for a webmaster site is a fair one and is why I was considering a more bulky offer of 10-20k impressions per 100 words. I was also thinking many webmasters capable of writing a coding/seo/etc tutorial operate other types of sites (games, entertainment).
