Sorry, I hope that didn't sound to harsh. It's just that - for a forum to be successful you have to have a topic that you're interested in. Otherwise you'll have no hope. Secondly, if you come up with an idea- we'll help you along the way. Welcome to AF, hope you enjoy your stay.

Join Date: Sep 2005 Posts: 10,246 Location: Athens, GA | Yeah, when starting a new forum, you have got to ask yourself what you are interested in, not what others are interested in...even if others have an interest in something, if you do not have that same interest, there's a small chance that your forums will last very long...and more importantly, little chance that you will enjoy doing it.

Unless you have a small fortune in your back pocket, you have no possible way to compete with the thousands of other gaming forums out there. Of course, you need some money to compete with any relevant forum, but the less competition you have, the less money you need, so you're going to want to find a nice unique niche. That's why bdude was a bit hesitant to give you his ideas; a good forum idea is very valuable. | ||||
