Local forum Idea

Hello!

My forum is starting to lag again, well its being doing prity poor since summer.

I have a few idea's i would to get some feed back on

1. Having seperate forums for places like bars and shops. my forum is alt music related and most gigs takes place in bars ect, i was thinkin of asking the bar manager if he would to set up his own forum and he can be the admin and set other mods, user groups and make up his own sub forums ect poss with a different skin, same idea with some local clothing stores, Im thinking that they will do more to advertise my forum as they have there own little sections, I will also be in control of these forums but not sure about my other mods..

2. I think i need a team to welcome new users, start good discussion threads and quell flame wars possibly with mod powers, however i have some regualr posters for about 3 years that i would not like to be on this team and i fear that a little civ war will errupt with user.

what do u guys think?

To be honest, I don't see the average bar owner being interested in any sort fo forum administration. If your forum is a local one, they might be interested in advertisement though, nice way to generate some revenue

Agreed. Additionally, however, you may want to consider some offline advertising at the locations themselves or with the bands. It sounds like perhaps MySpace might not be a bad application for your advertising budget.

That's a really good idea. Ask places that you'll find in the site if you can put up fliers or something.
