Adding Location Forums, should I...

Well, with my site www.fbodyonline.com I have a large number of Western NY members (Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Rochester area).

The site isn't even a month old yet, but I've got probably 15 of 48 members from this area, and one has asked for a WNY forum in the suggestions.

I am not sure what to do. I can add a WNY regional forum, but if I add the other regional forums, they wont have much activity as of yet. I could add just WNY Regional and no others, but then people may get the idea that I only want people from that area. Help, not sure what to do...

Why not call it "WNY and other regions" or just "Other regions" ?

You could tell them they need a few more members to have that. If they easily get more people in there, then it could be a good idea, as they will generate more users for you.

You could also just give it to them, and leave the other regions out. Make it clear somewhere, that you need so many members, or enough interest to get a forum for your region.

Either way could spark some competition between the forums for who can get the most people, which ends up being good business for you

I agree. I would explain to them that there are not enough members to justify having a forum just for that group of them but if there were a lot more of them then maybe it could happen.

Just write up an announcement saying that anyone interested in getting a local forum need say 10 active people, and after that to PM you with their accounts and what the forum is. It would also give them an incentive to refer people.
