I have gained several members through myspace bulletins. out of 7 i an definatly trace back to MySpace, only 1 remained active though.

There are plenty of ways to advertise your forum for free but the trick is to hit the right demographic. For example, if you have a mp3 forum you should target people who are really into music...clubbers, myspacers, downloaders etc. Join other music related forums and have a sig with your link (if allowed) or send out a myspace bulletin to as many people as you can (like others suggested) or other creative techniques...mp3s...hint hint
