I wish thinking of making my own service.

The idea is it works like youtube, but instead of only videos, it also does images, music, etc. and can be private or shown publically.

When videos are uploaded, they are converted to flv with mp3 audio.

Audio would convert o mp3 at 96 kpbs
images would be jpg or gif
and anything else will be as is.

Then I was thinking liimitatinos so it won't overfill the server.

Do you think this is a good idea? I really think this can attract more members to my site.

I think its a pretty good idea. What is the main focus of your site right now? I could actually see something like this being a stand-alone site instead of part of a current site.

That sounds pretty cool, but do you already have something in the making? And if you design your own script and everything, even if your site's visitors do not like the idea, you can still sell your work to other people.

Well first off, the idea for my site (which reminds me I need to upload it on my sig) is to bring services, whether it is forum promotion, or just anything like requests to find with torrents, finding music, videos, etc.. So basically any sort of unique service that can benifit users.

The problem is that although I am one of the smart forum users that is 14, I am not a genius when it comes to coding. Other staff members offered to make it and it doesn't seem to bother them. If it would, I would be flexible, I don't want to stress them out or anything.

That idea is pretty much it for now.

I would get scripts, but the only place I can get it in one place is projectw and some of them may be illegal since it is mostly a warez forum.

I think its a pretty broad idea... I think it would be better if you focus on one of those services.
