Just bouncing ideas around again Bit of a long read...

Lately we've had a few people show up asking for graphics for their sites or projects, ect. Not a problem, except they want them to serve as logos, and copywrited material, which personally, I don't like making for free. I've flat out rejected these requests, simply because of this. This brings me to my idea

The Basement has always been built around offering free graphics, and by this I mostly mean signatures, avatars, web banners, and little things like that. I'm considering expanding our graphics base into the paid realm, while still offering our free basic service. This is where designers can a) Show their work and b) attract and get work. Also, it would ideally 'be the place to go when you need graphics'. I'll be honest, my Drk Designs project kind of flopped, but I DID like the setup, where users get into contact with designers and make deals merketplace style.

I was thinking of a basic setup like this:

- Paid Graphics
---- Portfolios
---- Requests

In the portfolio section, users can make threads displaying examples of their work and contact information. The request section can be where artists apply to people who need graphics with their offers. Either way, I want to offer a means for the artist and the person in need of graphics to get in contact with each other and do business. This is my basic outline, if you have any brainwaves, I'd love to hear them

Sounds like it could be interesting, but it will take some work.

I think the SMF Trader mod (much like the vB one here at AF) would be a good addition, you could modify that for your site to make it so the people who make paid (or free) graphics could have a rating on their services. Just an idea that popped into my head.

To those who do commission work with photoshop, of any kind, what sort of support, board and section wise, would you be interested in? I also would like to add some parts for templates and forum skins as well, if I can get enough interest. I can see a lot of threads around here for people selling skins and services of that sort, and it's you who I want to hear from. How else am I supposed to build a forum to best serve your needs, right? I'm willing to give rep to designers and the like who tell me what they want

The basic idea here is to be a complete graphics forum, covering all aspects of photoshop, both professional and leisure
