Well i am sorry but can't disclose the name of my new forum but soon you guys will see it here and there on different other forums to be promoted.

Actually we are 3 friends running it and got some budget to advertise etc. It's up and in condition now to just run. Oh forgot to tell it's a webmaster earners forum. We will make threads of how to make money on internet including web money and other freelancing jobs like writting content or posting in forums etc can be way of making money.

After asking for reviews it's going well. All my friends said it's just awesome because of it's look and categories. Very simple yet attractive......

Now i got about $1000 to throw on it more. We already spent on it's unique skin, hosting, domain and paid for posting etc. 20+ members with 190 threads and 310 posts.

Now i need your suggestions on how to run it and to make it more busy. How to spend the money?

My idea:
Start daily top poster contest and give away $10 daily and also at the end of month give $100 to top poster of the month. In restriction 10 min posts to participate in daily contest.

Secondly i will spend like $500 in adwords to advertise it. But will only do when i see i got 5000+ posts through contest posters.

Then i thought to ask some big directory owners or other big companies to sponsor my monthly contest and in return they will get place of their logo on my forum. Duration might be like 3 or 6 months.....

I don't think that referral contest can be a good idea in webmaster related forum.

I need your suggestions what to do....$1000 is my budget. Do you think that adwords is the best to advertise or there are many good ways around?

I think you should just get your friends to post as much as they can because then you don't have to pay anything . i wouldn't start off with the daily top poster because thats useless unless you have members, so you have to advertise if you want to do that, I would probably never do the top daily posters because it will probably just be spam and stuff and it might be a waste of money if the top poster only got 1 post.. but if you do that you should probably set a minimum post count to do it (they have to have 20 posts to start and they have to get at least 10 posts that day to be the top poster or something..)

the sponsor idea is a good one, but they probably wont accept unless you have good stats so you will need to build that up.

I have never used adwords to advertise so Im not really sure if thats the best way but ou could always do a little of both

Better option would be to take interviews of people from the industry and maybe do a podcasting/streaming of the same. Also try to get some good articles in, maybe you can run a contest regarding articles. That way you would get some quality content which would attract more users.

I like bcmtouring ideas but I am still confused any help?

I don't know if the use of money to bump up postcount's is always a good thing. You'll get people who are much more itnerested in getting their postcounts high and it will annoy other members who are there to actually get information instead of winning money. I've never seen one of these actually work out well and make me want to stay there, all it does is add "fluff" posts that bump up stats, but annoy members.
This is my personal opinion of course, maybe others will like it.


Also, maybe change at least the colors on your site, it reminds me too much of Lee's

Actually i think that before i start throwing money on advertisment...I need to make it's stats bit good to look. So that's why i am thinking of starting top poster contest and more.

Well about the colors, For me and others who actually reviewed it gave me positive comments. We respect Lee because he is guru in making money online. There are many forums with green and blue colors it only reminds you when you read the url. We use earners and point. There are many forums using earners and point word so no prob.

Sounds like a mirror of EarnersForum to me. It'll be hard to grow a forum that already has a very similar competitor which is much bigger.
