Running a TV show forum

I've scoured the net and there doesn't seem to be any one central forum that viewers for this show go. There's plenty of little ones, but none have really taken off and most of them are on free hosts. This show is pretty darn popular so I think I've got a good niche here, and a good chance at making it. For those of you that run TV show forums, is there anything special you've done to make it grow, aside from the usual? What I mean in, is there anything you've done marketing wise specific to running a forum for a certain show that has made it a success? What do you like and dislike about running a TV forum? I'm also a tad worried about what will happen when the show is canceled. All shows eventually get the axe. I know if the community is strong enough it'll survive and evolve, but gosh it's still quite scary. Anyway, I'd love any suggestions and helpful hints from the TV show forum gurus here. I know we've got a few hanging around AF.

CP is just getting to the point where I don't need to be there every waking moment. Starting all over with a new forum freaks me out just a little. But since the show is on hiatas I suppose now is as good a time as any to get the forum up and running. I just found out that one of the biggest forums for this show is basically abandoned...so that's a little extra incentive. Wish me luck!

IMO it would be pretty tough just to start a general tv forum instead of a forum on a specific show. Its pretty much what I plan on doing once the shows I have end. Taking those memebers and posts and transferring them to the general forum and redirecting the traffic wouldnt be hard at all. My goal is atleast 100,000 members before I do this tho, I'm looking to reach that within a year and half.

I'm starting a forum on a new TV show, myself. It's scary, but I figure, eh, just give it a shot. Best of luck to you with it.

Their involvement in organized crime in New York City will put their life at risk and they will do anything to protect each other from the hostility between them and the others New York families who want their territory."
